I am not training for anything. I am training for everything: carrying groceries, getting off the floor, keeping up with grandkids, waking up without my back filing a complaint. At almost sixty, my entire philosophy fits on an index card. Move every day, even if it is only ten minutes, because consistency beats intensity at this stage of life. Do the boring strength work twice a week, squats and pushes and pulls, because muscle is the retirement account nobody can take from you. Walk like it is your job. Stretch while the coffee brews. Sleep like it is part of the program, because it is. There is no finish line in this approach, and that is the point. The goal is not a transformation photo. The goal is showing up at seventy still curious and still capable.
